Innovadyne Technologies Granted Key Core Technology Patent
Santa Rosa, CA. Tuesday, March 29, 2005.
Innovadyne Technologies today announced that it had been granted patent #6,852,291, "Hybrid Valve Apparatus and Method for Fluid Handling". The patent covers Innovadyne's core technology and liquid handling design found in most of its products. The design features the isolation of dispense actuators from reagents and samples, greatly enhancing reliability and performance. The robust architecture enables a variety of fluid types and a wide range of volumes to be dispensed with excellent precision and accuracy. Using non-contact, solenoid-based dispense technology, the Innovadyne platforms can deliver 1 µL of reagent to a 1536 format in less than 12 seconds. Low dead volumes and the aspirate-and-dispense design make the instrument ideal for both screening and assay development. Additional patents are expected in the near term that will further expand Innovadyne's IP position in the field.
