Velocity11 and Innovadyne Technologies Collaborate on Automated System for Broadcast Dispensing

Velocity11 and Innovadyne Technologies announce a collaboration on a fully automated, HTS broadcast-dispensing system. The dispensing system combines the plate storage and handling capabilities of Velocity11’s BenchCel™ Microplate Handling System with the low-volume, reagent-dispense technology of Innovadyne’s Nanodrop™ platform. The robust Nanodrop architecture enables a variety of fluid types and wide range of volumes to be dispensed with excellent precision and accuracy. Using non-contact, solenoid-based dispense technology, the Nanodrop can deliver 1 µL of reagent to a 1536 format in less than 12 seconds. Low dead volumes and the patented aspirate-and-dispense design make the instrument ideal for both screening and assay development.
The BenchCel provides speed with its fast seven-second instrument transfers, flexibility to add many devices, and scalability by offering 2x, 4x, or 6x stackers, and integrating multiple BenchCels. These are desired features of a full-sized automation platform but in a robust, compact benchtop system. The BenchCcel-Nanodrop system combination unites the speed, flexibility and scalability of both in one, compact benchtop platform.
