MWG Biotech and Innovadyne Technologies Inc. To Offer Automated Protein Crystallization Platform

MWG Biotech and Innovadyne Technologies Inc. are pleased to announce a new collaboration to provide an integrated solution targeted toward the protein crystallography market. The product offering combines the flexibility of MWG Biotech’s Theonyx instrument with the robust, non-contact dispense capabilities of Innovadyne’s Nanodrop™ system, and makes an ideal solution for protein crystallization. The Theonx system will be used to create coarse and fine screens from stock solutions or deep-well blocks. Once the crystal plates are made they can be transferred to the Nanodrop where the screen buffers will be added to the drop chamber followed by a fast protein dispense. Both the Theonx and Nanodrop can address the wide range of viscosities encountered in crystallization applications and the additional Theonx centrifuge and plate sealing peripherals make this a well-rounded platform.
