single nucleotide polymorphism solutions at Innovadyne Technologies
Innovadyne's PCR/sequencing platforms enable DNA amplification for SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) analysis and pattern matching. These platforms dispense template DNA at low volume and elaborate primer-pair maps for RT-PCR protocols. Innovadyne's technology enhances PCR based methodologies by facilitating reaction miniaturization. Reductions in both reagent and sample consumption not only lower costs, but also increase scalability, further enabling genome-wide approaches.
Central to reaction miniaturization is Innovadyne's ability to precisely deliver low volumes of both template and primers via non-contact dispensing. Accurate dispensing at low volumes permits direct linear reduction of reaction volumes and reagent use without dilution, thus maintaining optimal kinetics and assay performance. 20-to-50 fold reductions in total reaction volumes have been realized without compromise to data quality. Opportunities for carryover in the reaction assembly process are inherently minimized with Innovadyne's isolated microsolenoid valve design and the nature of non-contact dispensing further enhance its applicability to amplification-based methods.. Straightforward wash routines may be employed to eliminate carryover where contact occurs.
Flexible aspirate and dispense programmability, such as single-tip, random access pipetting, augments Innovadyne's broadcast reagent capabilities for applications such as the addition of multiple biomarkers to a single plate.
In the application note "Miniaturizing PCR with the Nanodrop," we compared a traditional liquid handling robot dispensing 10 µL (total volume) amplification reactions in a 384-well format against a Nanodrop assembling 1.25µL reactions using the same components. The data showed that the Nanodrop delivers comparable results while significantly reducing reagent costs and sample consumption.
