Innovadyne's genomics, protein crystallography, and MALDI plate spotting platforms provide reliable and precise low-volume liquid handling for molecular diagnostics protocols. Innovadyne's protein crystallography dispensing platforms deliver high throughput crystallization screens and protein addition, for both sitting drop and hanging drop crystallization. The cost of producing purified protein for high-throughput crystallization screening is expensive, so the use of robots that can dispense the protein without much waste and without denaturation is crucial. The low volume, non-contact dispensing and fast cycle time requirements of high-throughput protein crystallography are an excellent fit for Innovadyne's technology.

For protein characterization with MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, compounds must be spotted on a flat, metal MALDI target plate. Positional accuracy and precise deposition of the spots is critical. Classical liquid handlers using contact methods are prone to failure due to plate and tip irregularities and poor positional accuracy (typically > 100 µm/axis). Innovadyne's MALDI-TOF dispensing platforms reliably fulfill critical MALDI spotting requirements with precisely manufactured motion control and high-precision non-contact solenoid dispensing.

In the application note "Miniaturizing PCR with the Nanodrop," we compared a traditional liquid handling robot dispensing 10 µL (total volume) amplification reactions in a 384-well format against a Nanodrop assembling 1.25µL reactions using the same components. The data showed that the Nanodrop delivers comparable results while significantly reducing reagent costs and sample consumption.
